Isaac

Isaac was born to Abraham when he was 100 (2108 AM) and to Sarah when she was 90 (Gen 17:17).  After Sarah died at the age of 127 (Gen 23), Abraham sent a servant to his family in his homeland to find a wife for Isaac, Rebekah (Gen 24).  Isaac was 40 years old when he married Rebekah (Gen 25:20).  Rebekah was barren at first, but gave birth to twins when Isaac was 60 (Gen 25:26).

Esau (Rebekah)
Esau was the first born of the twins (Gen 25:25), but sold his birthright to Jacob because he was very hungry.  Esau got the name Edom (red) because of the red pottage that he got from Jacob for this birthright (Gen 25:30).

Jacob/Israel (Rebekah)
Rebekah, having been told by God that Jacob was to reign over his brother Esau (Gen 25:23), tricked Isaac to give his blessing to Jacob instead of Esau (Gen 27).  Esau hated Jacob for this and plotted to kill him (though later in life they reconciled – Gen 33).  Fearing for Jacob’s life, Rebekah asked Isaac to send Jacob back to Abraham and Rebekah’s homeland, to Rebekah’s brother Laban, to find a wife.
