Damascus/Syria Empty Damascus/Syria

The city of Damascus and nation of Syria seem to be used almost interchangeably in the Old Testament.  Damascus is one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities.   Damascus and Syria, though borders may vary from time to time and may have been conquered by different kingdoms at various times, have generally always been in the same location as they are now.
